Wicked Plague

Metroidvania ish!

I am not too far into this game, but so far it has been very good! Love that it is based off a different type of technology that doesn't need a battery backup system to save progress.

The best game to release for this to date. If you are a fan of Castlevania or Metroid then get this. Its like playing Castlevania with a hungover main character who just does not really care about what he is doing. The gameplay and dialogue are really good. Also the controls and how to do certain things like heal or dash was very well thought out and works out perfectly. I really hope we continue to get great title like this from Modretro.

Wicked Plague is the Castlevania you wish you had for the gameboy color. It really feels like this game takes everything we’ve learned Agni it game design since the release of the original gameboy and pushes the nearly 30-year-old system to its limit (in the best way). In a perfect world there would be a little more replay ability, but that wasn’t always a strong suit of the games that inspired it either.

Game is active and responsive. Initial boss fights are patterned enough you can complete them the first time if you pay attention. Mapping is good and meets up where it should.
