- Jean-Marc G.Verified Buyer12 hours agoRated 5 out of 5 starsBest and biggest RPG in the modern Game Boy era
High quality story RPG and extremely long (beyond 30 hours for first round).
You can unlock game-modifier that can be activated in a new game.
The game has different endings depending on your decisions and game play.
Fights are classical round-based and you have dungeons.
The world has a lot to offer and to discover (many secrets, and also mini games!).
It can be played on Chromatic/GBC and monochrome Game Boy (Pocket), while the latter is not compatible with the minigames.
The story is really good, emotional and funny (without cut scenes, which is not easy). The music matches perfectly the scenes. It's is so cute!
A must have! For real!

Dragonhym is a love letter to classic RPGs. It has gorgeous pixel art, expressive sprites, and a soundtrack that sticks with you. The world feels alive, and the mechanics bring fresh ideas without losing the old-school charm. Combat is simple but clever, with just enough twist to keep it interesting. Every screen shows care and detail. If you grew up on RPGs or just want a great one on the go, Dragonhym delivers. It’s a standout on the Chromatic.

Perfectly balanced between nostalgia and fresh ambition.
Visually, Dragonyhm channels second-generation Pokémon charm with richly detailed sprites and environments that pop on the Chromatic’s sapphire display. The included manual features art evocative of Ken Sugimori’s style, turning every NPC portrait and dungeon mural into a small work of pixel art mastery.
Gameplay fuses solitary, turn-based combat with environmental puzzles that reward curiosity. Stat progression hinges on using buff items right before leveling up, adding strategic depth to each encounter. Unlocking nine main dungeons requires collecting dragon scales scattered across the overworld, making exploration as thrilling as any boss fight.
Clocking in at over 30 hours of gripping story and side-quests, Dragonyhm nails that “just one more screen” feeling. The sturdy cartridge, charming Quakzal keychain, and crisp manual packaging elevate the tactile pleasure of retro collecting. For fans of atmospheric JRPGs and hardware enthusiasts alike, Dragonyhm is a five-star triumph that proves retro modding can breathe new life into handheld legends.
