How It Started

I started out making games in RPG Maker and GameMaker back when I was a teenager. It took a couple of decades, but I eventually learned to program in C and began making games for the Game Boy.

Other Games / Projects

Outside of indie game dev, I’ve worked as an animation lead on Paw Patrol and contributed to three feature films with Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Fun Fact

Every Game Boy game I make has one big constraint: it has to fit into 32 kilobytes or less. That challenge keeps things interesting!

The Idea

Why I Made This Game

I wanted to create something lean and focused – with a clear design hook – to teach myself Game Boy development.

What Makes This Game Special

I’ve always loved games that let you get comfortable, and then slowly ramp up until you're just barely keeping up. That rising suspense is so much fun – and I really feel like I captured that feeling here.

Trying to unlock all the achievements as fast as possible is a constant challenge. It keeps things replayable and gives you that “just one more run” feeling.

    Customer first, great puzzle game!

    I would have to divide this review into two parts.

    First the customer service of Modretro is beyond anything I have seen. I had a problem with the screw of my game cart as it was loose. So I told Modretro about that problem and soon after they understood the problem and said, that they will send me an exchange copy.

    The package arrived here in germany and it was a complete copy in shrink-wrap. I was expecting a loose cart. But they sent me the whole game for free. Just an incredible, "no-questions-asked" customer first company.

    Wow! Just wow. That´s what I call service! Thank you very much! Stay amazing and pro customer please!

    Perhaps in future releases the screw that hold the two plastic parts of the cart against each other could be a little longer. ;)

    Second the game.

    This is looks like a relaxing puzzle game but believe me this one does not hold your hand it it really gets stressful from time to time. Not in a bad way but you surely need a different mindset. Just say it can get quite hectic. I love it and have not been able to unlock all achievements yet.

    I would love a save state or just one save file in the game to save my score on the game and not to take a picture with my phone. That would make this game perfect! Okay, an option for multiplayer would also be cool, but It does not need it.

    TAP AND TAP AGAIN!

    is a bright and charming game with the true spirit of classic handheld titles. Its simple yet addictive mechanics, cute visual style, and lighthearted atmosphere make it perfect for short play sessions. It’s the kind of small game that leaves a very warm impression and makes you want to come back to it again and again.
